Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of conflict resolution strategies on the effects of adult attachment on college students relationship aggression. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted to 300 university students attending universities in the metropolitan area and a total of 251 were used for the analysis. We used the Adult Attachment Scale (ECR), Relationship Aggression Scale (PCS), and Conflict Resolution Strategy Scale (ROCI-II). As a result, adult attachment of college students was positively correlated with relationship aggressiveness and conflict resolution strategy. And conflict resolution strategies partially mediated adult attachment and relationship aggression. This implies that the adult attachment of college students has a direct influence on relationship aggression and indirectly through conflict resolution strategies. These results will help solve the difficulties experienced by the interpersonal conflicts in the positive direction through counseling. Finally, discussions and implications of this study were discussed.
