Abstract

The Cerenkov-radiation-type second-harmonic generation from the nonlinear-optical crystal-cored fiber is analyzed, when the core crystal absorbs the second-harmonic wave. It is shown that substantial conversion efficiency can be obtained against relatively large absorption. It is also shown that the crystal-cored fiber can be optimally designed using only the refractive indices, even if the absorption coefficient is not known.
