Abstract

Objective: To determine the effect of an intervention program on nurses’ practice about cataract. Methodology: This quasi-experimental study was carried out at Ibn AL-Haitham Teaching Eye Hospital, from October 15, 2022 to July 20, 2023. A purposive (non-probability) sample of 40 nurses working in cataract ward were selected. The sample was divided into two groups; 20 nurses in control group and 20 in the study group. A pretest and posttest were used after educational intervention. Results: There was highly significant difference between the nurses’ practice in pre and posttest. There was association between nurse's practice related to age, gender, level of education and years of service and years of experience in eye wards. Conclusions: Nurses benefited from the implementation of the instructional program and their practices or knowledge was effectively enhanced.
