Abstract

Instructional supervision is an important aspect that influences the improvement of the quality of education in schools. Through instructional supervision activities, teachers can improve the quality of carrying out their duties as educators. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of instructional supervision during the COVID-19 pandemic with information and communication technology. The research method used in this research is the descriptive quantitative research method. The research was carried out in Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools in Malang City. The research sample was taken from six schools which were conducted through a purposive random sampling method. The result of this research is that the implementation of instructional supervision during the COVID-19 pandemic in Senior High Schools and Vocational High Schools in Malang City has been carried out effectively by utilizing information and communication technology. The implementation of instructional supervision activities is carried out through three supervision activities, namely planning, implementing, and evaluating follow-up supervision results. The implementation of instructional supervision activities during the COVID-19 pandemic was carried out through platforms such as Google meet and zoom and digital communication media such as WhatsApp which were used to support teaching supervision activities. Meanwhile, the supervision technique used is through virtual class visits, online workshops, online MGMP, and online conversations.
