Abstract
The author presents the results of homogeneous (broad-bodied x broad-bodied constitutional type) and heterogeneous (broad-bodied x slender-bodied) variants of selecting Kazakh meat and wool sheep breed. Broad-bodied animals have greater vitality and better adaptive qualities to conditions of their breeding zone, in connection with which they have a higher level of productivity compared to slender-bodied animals. Selection of sheep for conformational and constitutional type will allow predicting the level of productivity of animals at an early age.
