Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of blood perfusion combined with hemodialysis in patients with refractory hypertension. Methods Forty-six patients with uremia resistant hypertension were randomly assigned to the hemoperfusion group (HP group) and the hemodialysis group (HD group). Before and after the treatment, plasma renin activity (PRA),angiotensin H (AT Ⅱ),parathyroid hormone (iPTH) and blood pressure were measured.Student's t test or Chi-square test was used for data analysis. Results At 8 weeks,PRA,AT Ⅱ,iPTH and blood pressure of the HP group were signicantly changed (P < 0.05) ; however,in the HD group,no differences were observed (P > 0.05).After the treatment, the differences of the parameters between the two groups were statistically significant (P < 0.05).Conclusion Hemoperfusion combined with hemodialysis could effectively remove plasma renin and angiotensin, and may better control refractory hypertensive patients with uremia. Key words: Refractory hypertension; Hemoperfusion; Hemodialysis
