Abstract

The core feature of a complex air combat system is manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T). It will be the basic air combat formation of the future Air Force. The effectiveness evaluation of a complex air combat system is a challenging task. It will profoundly affect the future direction of air combat systems. Firstly, this paper describes the concept, components, and winning mechanism of complex air combat. Secondly, drawing on the ideas of mosaic warfare effectiveness evaluation, building an agent-based capability-service effectiveness evaluation model, solving the model by heuristic rules. We define an effectiveness evaluation metric to measure the effectiveness of a complex air combat system from different perspectives. Finally, simulation results under different scenarios show that the platforms’ orchestration relationship is essential in developing a complex air combat system.
