Abstract

Multi-ports electrical energy router is the key solution to the integration of the AC/DC distribution systems and the grid connection of the renewable energy generators. In this paper, an AC/DC hybrid distribution system with a four-ports high frequency bus electrical energy router (HFB-EER) is introduced. An effectiveness evaluation system is established to analyze the operating performance of the proposed power system. Effective analysis under different operating conditions is conducted based on the practical profile of PV generation and power consumption. The analysis result demonstrates that the effectiveness of the AC/DC hybrid distribution system becomes better when the distribution systems has adequate PV output and the HFB-EER is able to improve its own efficiency by changing the operation modes like the island mode.
