Effective utilization of residual cationization drain on dyeing of knit goods and stripping studies on cationized dyed samples

Abstract

ABSTRACT Majority of knit goods processed are dyed with reactive dyes. Cationization of cotton knits is one of the effective ways to dye cotton fabric without salt using reactive dye. The effective reuse of cationized bath was done with topping of CHPTAC and a topping of 15gpl led to matching of shade to that of control fabric. FT-IR and SEM characterization confirms the surface modification and Fastness tests have been performed for the stripping studies. No significant color difference is observed in terms of K/S, L* a* and b* values of stripped and redyed fabrics.
