Abstract

Springs are the relatively common sources of water used in Dien Bien province, especially in the high mountains and water-scarce areas. However, a decline in the quantity and quality of springs is taking place in most study areas of the province. Based on the analysis of the hydrogeological structural characteristics of various types of springs, this article introduces solutions to restore and increase the water reserve for the springs in the province. The experimental results for a specific model in Muong Bang commune, Tua Chua district, Dien Bien province showed that the proposed solution can add about 5,377 m-3.a-1 to the exposed spring sources within the project basin.
