Abstract

In 1980 Suzuki and Lee proposed a method of calculating an effective interaction from a realistic NN interaction. In this paper we discuss an application of this method to shell-model calculations without an inert core. For the actual implementation of the Suzuki-Lee method the self-energy insertion procedure is used. The resulting spectra show a moderate dependence on the starting energy ε owing to approximations used for the evaluation of Q̂-box.
