Abstract

This study explores the effective teaching techniques and states that, since the largest part of cognitive load in academic studies is to be acquired through reading, while developing cognitive academic learning proficiency of students involved in STEM education, it is advisable to focus special attention in improving their reading competence. The article reports about the experience obtained through teaching reading strategies on CBI domain in Urgench State University (Uzbekistan) that demonstrated the importance of Scaffolding techniques in teaching both General English and CBI. Effective approaches of Scaffolding implemented in teaching process, that provided easier immersion in the academic content and boosted students’ language acquisition, are presented.
