Abstract

AbstractThis article examines the personal and professional attributes of nonprofit board members‐their values, behaviors, and skills‐as seen through the eyes of chief executives and board chairs. In the study reported here, an inductive research methodology was employed in order to bring to the surface the underlying assumptions of executive directors and chairs regarding their expectations of board members.
