Abstract

This paper presents a method for establishing an equivalence relationship between the Doppler Broadening Function based on the Maxwell-Boltzmann Distribution and the Deformed Doppler Broadening Function, according to the generalised Tsallis Distribution, through an effective temperature Teff of the medium. The proposed method allows a precise calculation of the Maxwellian Doppler Broadening Function, which reproduces the value of the Tsallis Doppler Broadening Function (TDBF), where ξ is associated to the temperature of medium T and ξ∼q relates to the effective temperature Teff of the medium. In this paper, we calculate ξ∼q for typical values of the deformation factor q together with a parameterization example for ξ∼q as a result of the ordered pair x,ξ, using a genetic algorithm technique. The results obtained were accurate, with a percentage deviation under 2%.
