Abstract

This research is motivated by the regulations of the Ministry of Education and culture regarding the implementation of education during the pandemic Covid-19 which requires the implementation of distance learning using online learning media. The purpose of this research is to find out what learning media are effective in online biology learning to anticipate Covid-19. This research method is done by conducting a literature review of several journals. Literature on effective learning media to support online biology learning. This research technique uses literature analysis. The results of the analysis show that the effective online biology learning media to be used or applied are Google Classroom, Google Meet, Zoom, and Teacher’s Room media. Participant students showed a tendency to prefer synchronous learning via video conferencing. Synchronous learning using video conference service allows teachers and students to interact in real time while reducing the potential for delays in feedback as is common in the study carried out asynchronously, supports group interaction, as well as providing space for sharing opinions and discuss in small groups. The application of these learning media can also help educators control the implementation of online learning, improve cognitive abilities, creative learning outcomes, thinking skills, learning satisfaction, and students’ learning biology independence.
