Abstract
A theoretical model for the 1-2-3 superconductors is presented, pointing to the crucial role of the Cu-O chains. In the limit of single occupied Cu-sites in the Cu-O 2 planes, common to the resonating valence band and other models, we obtain a) an enhancement of T c and b) a superposition of s- and d-wave symmetry for the gap function.
