Abstract

Abstract The effective exchange interaction energies between two equal 3d impurity atoms, as well as two different ones, in Cu and Ni are calculated using the impurity KKR Green's-function method. The present first-principle calculations explain the experimental NMR results concerning the spin-flip of Mn moments in NiMn and NiFe alloys.
