Abstract

The half-lives for the unique first-forbidden β-transitions in the vicinity of mass numbers A = 40 and A = 90 are obtained within the framework of the finite Fermi-system theory (FFST) using the nuclear wave functions calculated in the seniority scheme. The RMS deviation of the theoretical values of log fτ from the experimental ones is less than 0.1. This agreement with experiment enabled us to obtain the spin-isospin interaction constant g′ 0 = 1.0 – 1.2 at C 0 = d n/d ϵ F = 300 MeV fm 3 and the local charge e qs = 0.8.
