Abstract

The aim of this paper was to explore effective approaches for moral education to cultivate creativity and character. The main questions which aim to be answered in my paper are as follows: First, does creativity have nothing to do with character, that is, creativity and character are completely different in the field of moral development or moral education? Second, does one side complement another? If two sides maintain a close relationship, there can be qualities of character to strengthen and facilitate, or suppress and obstruct creativity. Last, if the second view is true, then what can be the effective moral education method to promote creativity and character? To develop students` C&C, first, it is beneficial to use integrated or comprehensive C&C education and a virtue-oriented approach to organically harmonize cognitive, affective, and conductive parts of morality. It positively uses practice and activity and experience-oriented teaching methods to change moral behavior. It also needs to be creative experience activities for students to strengthen the acting capability. It presented by adaptive activities and autonomous activities. Home and community partnership activities are needed such as filial piety, intimacy with neighborhoods, practical and service learning activities. In order to get maximum efficiency out of moral education, the moral education curriculum needs to combine different aspects of traditional and modern Eastern and Western methods that have been effective in the past. The goal is to extract from these diverse methods, ways to impact students` growth in three components that make up morality-moral knowledge, moral emotion, and moral behavior.
