Abstract

A study on Pr or Ce modified hexaaluminates, La x A1 − x NiAl11O19(x = 0.8)and LaNiAl11O19 as catalysts for carbon dioxide reforming of methane was carried out by means of XRD, TGA, XPS and TPR techniques. The experimental results indicate that the catalytic properties of the La0.8Pr0.2 NiAl11O19 are more optimal than those of the La0.8Ce0.2 NiAl11O19. These catalysts were studied in more detail and it was found that the active nickel phase strongly depends on the interactions of the Ni ion and the La ion, which are related to the additives (Ce, Pr).
