Abstract

Objective To investigate the status of pre-hospital first aid knowledge and skills training among highway traffic police in Xuzhou, and provide evidence to improve the training plan of first aid skills. Methods By Xuzhou Central Hospital Emergency Center, a total of 91 police were divided into three groups to accept first aid skills training and assessed the first aid knowledge and skills before and after training. Results After training, the passed rate of first aid theory increased form 31.0% to 71.4% (χ2=179.01, P<0.01); while the practice enhanced to 51.8% from 20.0% (χ2=120.49, P<0.01). Conclusions Highway traffic polices have the shortage of first aid knowledge, should acquire the theory and skills training of first aid especially for CPR.
