Abstract

The influence ofAg substrate on the texture and formation of Bi-2223 phase upon sintering at 840°C for 240 hours, after partial-melting at 875°C for 1 hour, was studied using X-ray analysis. The 2223 phase withc-axis orientation preferentially formed in the interface layer which touched theAg substrate (Ag surface). Both the degree of texturing and the volume fraction of 2223 phase decreased with increasing distance from theAg surface.
