Abstract

NMR, adsorption, and comparative methods have been employed to study effect of water on relaxation processes in polysaccharides. The development of the segmental mobility of macromolecules upon polysaccharide devitrification, which accompanies the formation of an adsorption layer with a thickness of about two water molecules, has been shown to make the largest contribution to the spin-lattice relaxation processes in the polymer-water system.
