Abstract

The aim of the study that has been performed was to examine the behaviour of the vessel in shallow waters and compare it to the behaviour in deep water. The analysis of dynamic behaviour of tanker in different sea depths is performed for several heading angles. The response amplitude operators for surge, heave and pitch are calculated at different sea depths and compared. For solving the problem of the velocity potential and fluid pressure on the submerged surfaces of the bodies the boundary integral equation method (BIEM), also known as the panel method, is used. The study is extended to analysis of panel number influence on results accuracy. The results of panel code are compared with strip theory code results.
