Abstract

Na2O 3SiO2 glasses with high water content were prepared under high‐pressure, hydrothermal conditions and their chemical durabilities in water were measured at atmospheric pressure and 30°C. Chemical durability decreases with increasing water content, which is probably due to a positive dependence of H+ (or H3O+) diffusivity on water content.
