Abstract

A calculation and experimental procedure is suggested for evaluating the effect of the volumetric stressed state on yielding of metals. The main features of the effect of triaxial tension and test temperature on the yielding stress are demonstrated on the example of steel 45. It is established that triaxial tension under low-temperature conditions may lead to a reduction in yield strength for the steel by 30%.
