Abstract
Magnetic moments of clusters have been measured for about 30 years by Stern-Gerlach experiments, but the interpretation of the results on small clusters at low temperatures is still under debate. In this study, the authors develop a microscopic model reproducing their experimental results, thereby providing a tool to further study the magnetism of free nanoparticles.
