Abstract

The scattering of plane waves by absorbing silicon rubber spheres and cylinders is investigated theoretically. The bodies are immersed in water. The effect of inclusion and exclusion of shear losses are examined. The scattering solution is calculated for a range of densities, velocities, and absorptions characteristic of many silicon rubbers.
