Abstract

The study has been focused on the effect of whole-body vibration on human body during agricultural operations in different conditions. A human 3D CAD model has been developed based on 95th percentile Indian anthropometric data of 76 kg human subject, and 3D model of farm tractor seat has been developed using reverse engineering. Both models have been assembled with each other, and RMS value ranging from 0.5–1.5 m/s2 has been applied in vertical direction on the seat to find out the transmissibility ratio of vibration magnitude. The properties of human bones, muscles, and skin have been given to be the human 3D CAD model. Damping ratio of human body has been considered to be 0.2, 0.3, and 0.5. The seat has been considered with three spring stiffness 0.3, 0.55, and 0.7 kg/mm for suspension system. It has been found that maximum displacement occurs at head and primary resonance frequency has been found to be in the range of 4–6 Hz. The secondary peak has been observed in 10–12 Hz frequency range with maximum deformation observed at head.
