Abstract

In this problem, the photothermal excitation processes and thermal conductivity of a semiconducting elastic medium due to the change in the temperature effect are studied. The dual-phase-lag (DPL) model and Lord–Shulman (LS) theory are used to formulate and discuss the one-dimensional governing equations of the problem. The thermal ramp type is applied to the load-free surface of the medium. The complete solutions for some physical fields are obtained using the Laplace transform method. Comparisons between the results of thermal memory and variable thermal conductivity are also introduced. The effects of the medium physical fields are illustrated and discussed graphically.
