Abstract

• HVOF sprayed AlCoCrFeNiCu HEA coating is mainly composed of BCC. • Vacuum heat treatment at different temperatures has different effects of the coatings. • The coating after vacuum heat treatment at 500 ℃ has the best mechanical properties. AlCoCrFeNiCu high-entropy alloy (HEA) coating was prepared by HVOF technology and vacuum heat treatment (VHT) at different temperatures (500, 700, 900 and 1100 °C) was carried out. The effects of VHT on the phase transformation, microstructure and mechanical properties of the coating were studied. The results show that HVOF sprayed AlCoCrFeNiCu HEA coating is mainly composed of BCC, which includes B2 and A2. VHT at different temperatures has different effects on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the coatings. Besides, the coating after VHT at 500 ℃ has the best mechanical properties, which indicates that the optimal microstructure and mechanical properties of the coatings can be obtained by selecting appropriate VHT.
