Abstract

The vacuum annealing of a heat-resisting nickel alloy with a two-layer plasma-deposited PN70Yu30/Al coating results in the formation, in the basis material, of a diffusion layer containing the most oxidation-resistant nickel aluminide. The depth of the diffusion layer in the basis material depends on the thickness of the starting coating. Use of vacuum annealing raises the rupturing stress of the composite consisting of a two-layer coating and the basis metal. The nickel aluminide diffusion zone inhibits the propagation of cracks into the basis material.
