Abstract

1. Efficient ultrasonic treatment promotes strengthening of tungsten-cobalt hard alloys. As a result of this treatment there is displacement of the tungsten carbide interference line (201) in the direction of reduced interplanar distance, and this is characterized by work hardening proceeding during treatment. 2. The strengthening level and the kinetics for alloys VK15 and VK6 are in good correlation, and they point to the common nature of processes occurring in medium-cobalt sintered hard alloys during ultrasonic treatment.
