Abstract

The different sintering techniques have been found to have remarkable effect on the microstructure and electrical properties of ceramics. The two-stage sintering technique has a potential for fabricating highly dense ceramics at low cost. The effect of two-stage sintering on the dielectric and ferroelectric properties of Ba0.80Pb0.20TiO3 ceramics prepared by solid state route were investigated in this study. It has been found that, under suitable two-stage sintering conditions, the dense Ba0.80Pb0.20TiO3 ceramics can be successfully achieved with improved electrical properties. The tetragonality is also found to increase in the samples sintered by the two stage sintering.
