Abstract

A laboratory experiment of 7-10 days' duration was conducted during May 1995 to evaluate the effect of turmeric in combination with lime on various physico-chemical parameters of water in fish ponds. Three dose-combinations of turmeric and lime, viz., A - 0.5 and 5.0 mg/I B- 1.0 an d 10.0 mg/l and C-1.5 and 15.0 mg/l, respectively, per hectare-metre water were applied in filtered pond water kept in 10-1 glass jars. Three replicates were maintained for each treatment and control groups, and water parameters in them were recorded every alternate day. The results of the experiment are described in the present communication.
