Abstract
Interactions between oppositely charged surfactants in aqueous solution of Pluronic F68, (EO)77(PO)29(EO)77 have been studied using turbidity measurements at 25°C. A concentration where complete neutralization (denoted by “T”) takes place has been evaluated in mixtures consisting of cationic (i.e., dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide, DTAB); tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide, TTAB; hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, HTAB and anionic surfactants (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS, and sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate, SDBS) in water and in the presence of Pluronic F68. The value of T falls as the amount of F68 increases demonstrating an onset of neutralization between oppositely charged surfactants at total low concentration.
