Abstract

We studied the effects of transcranial anodal micropolarization (TCAMP) of the brain and its combination with rhythmic photostimulation (PS) in eleven patients with alcoholism of the second degree with a clearly expressed abstinent syndrome and disorders in the emotional/motivational and mnestic activities. After TCAMP sessions, addiction of the patients to alcohol decreased, their emotional state improved (the indices of anxiety dropped), the arterial pressure was normalized, and the indices of concentration and switching of attention, short-term (operative) and visual memory improved. Combination of TCAMP and PC more effectively compensated the abstinent syndrome and corrected the disorders in the patients with alcoholism.
