Abstract
The dependence of the heat of solution of terephthaloyl chloride in a mixture of dimethylacetamide and 3% lithium chloride on small amounts of water in the solvent (0.01–0.5% by wt.) has been determined, using a Calvet microcalorimeter. It has been shown that hydrolysis of the acid chloride takes place in the amide-salt system in the presence of water.
