Abstract

The results of analysis of the relative abrasion wear resistance of composite coatings based on a high-speed tool steel are presented. It is shown that the R6M5 steel–(TiC+WC) coating, with the initial surfacing mixture containing 20% of the hardening phase (5% TiC+15% WC), has the highest wear resistance and does not require additional heat treatment.
