Abstract

Effects of TiO 2 addition on the sinterability, microstructure and microwave dielectric properties were investigated in this paper. The addition of TiO 2 increased the sintering temperature slightly. Addition of TiO 2 successfully lowered the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency to less than 10 ppm °C −1 when 2.0 mol% TiO 2 was added, and decreased the Q × f value from 32,500 to 14,800 GHz at the same time, but did not significantly affect the dielectric constant (22–24 at 6 GHz). Those changes seemed to be attributed to the chemical reaction between TiO 2 and La 2/3(Mg 1/2W 1/2)O 3 (LMW) during sintering and inhomogeneous multiphase existed as the TiO 2 addition amount increased.
