Abstract

AbstractThe effect of heating rate, pyrolysis atmosphere, maximum heat treatment temperature (HTT) in different pyrolysis atmospheres used during char preparation, pressure of char preparation and holding time at maximum HTT on char reactivity was studied using Wyoming Sub‐C coal on a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). All these factors were found to have marked influence on char reactivity. Reactivity data are presented with rate as a function of carbon conversion and carbon conversion as a function of time or dimensionless time.
