Abstract

In this work, we researched using thymol rather than complete EOs to improve antifungal effect of chitosan coating against P. expansum and the possible mechanisms of inhibiting the pathogen in pear. Our results showed that growth of P. expansum could be effectively inhibited both in vitro and in pear by thymol and resistance-related enzymes in pear also could be enhanced by it.
