Abstract
The increasing use of particleboard products as components of interior furnishings has highlighted the need for a better understanding of the properties of particleboard that affect its early fire hazard. A representative range of various particleboard products were tested to AS 1530, Part 3. Indications are that thickness, density and the nature and colour of the surface finish influence the Early Fire Hazard Indices of particleboard.
