Abstract

The domain wall patterns of variously stressed, grain-oriented 3% Si-Fe laminations at the remanence have been studied by direct domain observation to give evidence for the collapse of spike closure domains with increasing tensile stress, and the subsequent rearrangement of strip domain walls avoiding the appearance of a strong magnetostatic energy term.
