Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a 10week Pilates exercise program on the health physical fitness, immunoglobulin and sex hormone in female college students. Subjects were divided into pilates group and control group. Exercise program was in the form of Pilates exercise, warm‐up, main exercise, cool‐down, 4 times a week, during 10week with an exercise intensity of 50–60%HRmax(1–5 weeks) and 61–70%HRmax(6–10 weeks). Before and after Pilates exercise program, the health physical fitness, immunoglobulin and sex hormone were analyzed. Health physical fitness were significant increase in the muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and cardiorespiratory endurance of Pilates exercise group as the duration of exercise go by. Immunoglobulin, there were significant increase in the IgG, IgM, IgD, IgE of Pilates exercise group as the duration of exercise go by. Sex hormone were significant increase in the E2 and progesterone of Pilates exercise group as the duration of exercise go by. Pilates exercise was an effective exercise which provided an positive improvement of the health physical fitness and immunoglobulin after 10week exercise, especially sex hormone was showed positive change after 5week exercise. It is conclude that Pilates exercise is a good one for the promotion of physical metabolism and physiological function by positive change of immunoglobulin and sex hormone.
