Abstract

A method is proposed for describing the diffusion transfer of individual substances through two-layer membranes when sorption in the membrane layers is described by nonlinear isotherms. Analytical expressions for the diffusion flux of a substance through a two-layer membrane and the permeability of the membrane are obtained for a Langmuir isotherm. It is shown that the permeability of the membrane is determined not only by the permeability of each of its layers but also by the nonlinearity of the isotherms for sorption in each of them.
