Abstract

hadrons. However, since the mass of new particle containing the forth (p0') urbaryon as its constituent seems to be larger by several times than that of the usual hadron, the effect of the form factor might ap preciably alter the previous estimation of the decay rate of the new particle into the usual hadrons. So we shall present a brief examination in this respect. The form factor has been a problematic subject for a long time and its clarification will not be achieved without that of the inner structure of elementary particles. We shall not enter into those fundamental problems, but, with the practical aim, re calculate the decay rates of the new parti cles by using the form factor given by the Hokkaido and W aseda groups» tentatively. They have treated the baryon and the meson systems on the basis of the harmonic oscillator model. In the two-body decay A~B+C where A and B are both a-mesons or both t +-baryons, the particle C is regarded as a field (point-like) quantum and the form factor is given by the over lapping of the wave functions of A and B as the composite system. The calculated form factor is given by
