Abstract

The article presents the results of studying the effect of the drug Prostimul on the indicators of endogenous intoxication and the antioxidant status of sows. It has been found that the use of Prostimul is accompanied by an increase in the indicators of enzymatic (catalase and glutathione peroxidase) and non-enzymatic (vitamins A, E and C) links of antioxidant protection, as well as a decrease in the content of transition products of free radical processes in the body of experimental animals. Since a decrease in the activity of the antioxidant system with an increase in the formation of free radicals and reactive metabolites is one of the basic mechanisms for the occurrence of various pathologies, it is possible to recommend the drug Prostimul as a means of prevention and pathogenetic therapy for the correction of free radical oxidation.
