Abstract
Objective To investigate the combined effects of diode laser and Green or for dentin hypersensitivity in the elderly. Methods Thirty-six elderly patients (108 exposed sensitive teeth) were randomly allocated into three equal groups. Group A (desensitization therapy with diode laser and Green Or) , Group B (desensitization therapy with diode laser only) and Group C (desensitization therapy with Green Or only) ; the curative effects in the 3 groups were observed instantly, 3 months after treatment respectively. Results The results show no obvious difference of the instant curative effect among the 3 groups; The effective rates of the 3 groups kept descending with the time going, 3 months after therapy, the rate of Group A was significant difference from that of Group B and Group C; the rate of Group B was no significant difference from that of Group C. Conclusion It was concluded that the diode laser combined with Green Or was a effective treatment option. Key words: Dentin hypersensitivity; Green or; Diode laser
