Abstract

The electroluminescence of a ZnS phosphor based on several binders was examined. It was shown that electroluminescent layers based on several binders have an additional (“super”) brightness relative to the brightness corresponding to a field strength computed with the theory of heterogeneous systems. The hypothesis is outlined that the “super-brightness” results from a charge accumulation on the surface of the crystal phosphor during the excitation of the same.
